It works with my 2012 GLK including third party rear view camera. The device itself is also an android 4G phone. But I just use the USB to connect my cell phone and have no plan to get another SIM card for it. It is a bit slow in booting but not too bad (rear view camera works instantly which helps to reduce waiting time to start off). Watch a lot of YouTube videos and there will be no problem to DIY. You don’t need to remove the glove box. Just use a steel wire to fish connectors through the space behind it.
